Digital Bracket Setup is included in every patient tray kit at no extra charge.
Digital Bracket Setup (also known as Digital Bracket Placement or Digital Indirect Bonding) is placement of the brackets, as determined by your prescription, on a scanned model using a dental CAD software (Computer Aided Design). Digital Bracket Setups are more accurate than the traditional method of lining a stone model. Digital Bracket Setups are stored as STL files; therefore, you have electronic records of the setups for every case.
Advantages:
There is no additional cost for Digital Bracket Setup. All cases regardless of how they are submitted (Scans/PVS impressions) will have Digital Bracket Setup.
No, an intraoral scanner is NOT required. Six Month Smiles will use your PVS impressions to pour a model and then will scan the model for digital processing. This service is also included in the price of the case (at no extra charge).
No. This option does not exist for a standard case but is available for CONFIDEX™ cases, where you have the opportunity to verify the ortho bracket placement (and treatment plan) before approving the case.
Photos are OPTIONAL but they do greatly enhance our ability to detect gingival margins, verify present and missing dentition and cross-check against defects in impressions/scans. In short, photos help us improve the accuracy of the digital bracket setup. We recommend that you upload photos with your case submission. However, we will process your case without photos.
YES. You may upload all/few/no photos. Photos are NOT required for case submission. Photos are only required for a CONFIDEX™ case.
The printed model is used to transfer the digital setup from the computer to production as the printed model is used to fabricate the indirect bonding tray for your case.
3 years. After 3 years, the Digital Bracket Setup files will be archived and not readily accessible. Six Month Smiles strongly recommends that you download the files on to your own computer/hard drive/electronic storage location as the file is a permanent record of the patient’s pre-treatment dentition.
Six Month Smiles is committed to protecting your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy for more information.
